Well, one issue I can see is that anyone can post without an account. To some extent that's not a bad thing, but at the same time it doesn't really let you control who gets to post. That can be very bad if you end up being on the receiving end of a grudge (which, I hate to say, I exploited along with a bunch of others members of a message board when someone we banned created their own board in order to get back at us. A... less than mature response, though this was years ago.)

I'd recommend probably making users sign up for accounts. In theory that should hopefully prevent porn bots from getting through. If that doesn't work, a validation process might be in order.

As for me, I'm considering joining this board, and the user name is something I might consider. Really all depends on how I'm feeling (which is quiet frankly stressed out at the moment between full-time school, full-time work, and the holidays coming up.)

I'm gonna let the boss check out the stuff on the forum regarding registered members. To my knowledge, I thought that one had to sign up to do so, though clearly I was wrong.

Thanks for the observation. If I were you, I'd make an account. Who cares if you're inactive? It'll be a lot more fun in terms of participation in Kale's project, since it's such a great one.

I've altered the form permissions to read-only for non-registered users, and registration must now be approved by me before a user can post, so with any luck the bot infestation of 2009 should end. That said, I feel like we're missing something now.
